FIRST GHANA RESULTS FAIR OPENS IN ACCRA

The first ever “Ghana Results Fair” put together by the Ministry of Monitoring and Evaluation was opened on Tuesday in Accra by H. E Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo (President of the Republic).

The objective of the Fair was to among other things, promote inclusive engagement and interactions between implementing Ministries of government’s flagship social intervention programmes and their beneficiaries; the citizenry,

It offered the opportunity for the officials of government agencies to explain progress of implementation and achievements of Government programmes, thereby enhancing evidence-based decision-making and accountability.

The maiden Fair, held under the theme: “Delivering Results for our Citizens: A Work in Progress” featured 33 Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs), display infographic messages, videos and relevant information on 17 priority Government flagship programmes.

Delivering the keynote address, the President of the Republic commended the Ministry of Monitoring and Evaluation for putting together the Fair and thereby, giving the implementing agencies the opportunity to showcase the level of implementation, sustainability and short, medium and long-term impact of their respective initiatives.

The three day event also featured plenary sessions which offered the citizenry the opportunity to ask pertinent questions bordering on the numerous policy interventions undertaken by the Government over the past three years.
